On April 15, 2012, English language advocates – during the 9am English mass –  were distributing a newsletter advocating for English language mass at St Anthony’s Catholic Church.  A Latina began to tear up and throw newsletters onto the street.  In the video, she grabbed Robin Hvidston’s arms and began to wrestle Hvidston to the ground.  Police arrived on scene and a citizen’s arrest of the assailant went forward.  St Anthony’s Parish, Upland, CA http://stanthonyupland.org/

3/18/12 Spanish mass attendees –  two minor children both in the passenger seat, not in seat belts in a moving vehicle, displayed a Mexican flag as they entered St Anthony’s Catholic Church.

On 3/28/12 flyers promoting English language mass at St Anthony’s were distributed.  The video below is a telephone message from a St Anthony’s parishioner.

Yes you who they call Spanish, Hispanic, Mexican.

You, the one that they yell at to go home.

Tell them who you really are.

Tell them you are of the air, land, water, and fire.

These rivers flow from your mother earth.

The warmth of your face, from father sun.

Hey you Latino!

Tell them to pronounce your name correctly.

No it is not Letisha it is Leticia.

No it is not Alexander it is Alejandro.

Tell them that your ancestors built the great pyramids of Teotihuacan.

The mathematical concept of zero, it came from our people, our raza (race).

The Incas, the Mayas, the Aztecas, the Barricuas…second to none.

NEW CBS Outdoor Billboard #2800, located AS YOU ENTER RANCHO CUCAMONGA on Foothill Blvd., eastbound, (across the street from the Sycamore Inn)  Spanish language billboard advertising Buchanan’s  Scotch whiskey.

Now, as you enter the City of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, a new Spanish language billboard has been erected advertising Buchanan’s Scotch whiskey. The majority of the viewers of the billboard speak and read English.  The Buchanan’s Spanish language billboard is divisive and insensitive to the community.  The same billboard has also been placed in Upland, CA.
